Prospect in Peripheries: Interviews with young people from Larissa!

Kainotomia has implemented local focus group interviews for the purposes of the Peripheries Smart Practices and Challenges Report and the Peripheries Training Tool Kit, which are the two intellectual outputs of the Prospect in Peripheries project. The interviews were conducted with the participation of  5 young people and 5 NGOs’/ associations’ employees that work in the field of training and youth. The overall aim of the interviews was to identify training needs and issues for peripheral citizens and organizations supporting them with employability and entrepreneurship issues.

We met with the participants, in a non-formal environment where they felt comfortable and exchanged views, opinions, and experiences on how it is to live in a peripheral region, along with challenges that young people face in the employability and entrepreneurship field and the opportunities that Larissa offers them. The results of the interviews along with secondary research that partners have already conducted are going to be used to produce the national reports: that will

  • outline the current situation and training available in the field of entrepreneurship and employability for those working with peripheral citizens
  • identify the gaps found through the research and the proposed solutions for the improvement of training available for peripheral citizens in these areas.
