With great success and with a great participation of young people, an informative workshop was held yesterday at the premises of Life Long Learning Center KAINOTOMIA on the possibilities of internships in institutions of the European Union and other international organizations.
The workshop was greeted by the president of the 7th FP of the Economic Chamber of Greece Mr. George Hatzis and then the director of the Life Long Learning Center KAINOTOMIA Mr. Michael Triantafyllou welcomed the attendees, referring to the complex operation of the Centre, which its events, interventions and participations is a central pole of European policies in our country.
The key speaker at the conference was the Commission’s executive Ms Delice Alhanati who analyzed the necessary procedures for the entry of graduates in the “blue book” while giving useful tips for the successful completion of the application and the program.
Afterwards, Mr Gregory Papacharalambous gave information about the internship of students and graduates in NATO, the United Nations, the World Bank, the OECD, UNESCO, WHO, UNICEF, the European Parliament, the European Investment Bank, the European Data Protection and the European Council.
In conclusion, Mr Triantafyllou analysed the highly successful ERASMUS for Young Entrepreneurs programme, which KAINOTOMIA promotes at the national level, giving the opportunity to young entrepreneurs or potential entrepreneurs to be hosted in companies in the European Union, enriching their experience, knowledge and cooperation opportunities.
During the discussion that followed all agreed that:
-Today most international organisations offer internships for young students and graduates in all parts of the world and in different fields of knowledge and thus the opportunities to join a project are great.
-Internships are a great way to bridge the gap between academia and the world of work.
-During the internship one can realistically assess one’s knowledge, limits and potential at a multinational level, and plan more securely one’s next steps.
