MOOC4ALL – Innovative Model for Facilitating On-line Learning Success

Implementation Period

01/11/2021-01/04/2023

Project Number

2021-1-BG01-KA220-VET-000029853

Summary of the project

Today, there are fundamental changes in the world and the labor market. Crises, new technologies, globalization, and demographic issues have a profound impact on the type and quality of the available jobs and the skills they require. Combined forms of education prevail, including general education and vocational training. The current focus in VET development is on training employees to meet the challenges posed by the transition from the Industrial to the Digital Age.

The MOOC4ALL is a 17-month project designed to meet present challenges and future trends in VET by developing a flexible innovative social model for learning (SME), which allows successful learning and completion of courses in an online environment through digital technologies. This model allows an instructor, teacher, or mentor in VET to lead a group social learning process using any online content, thus structuring the work and strengthening the social ties between the learners. So, MOOC4ALL meets one of the biggest needs in the development of VET by 2035, the “orientation to the needs of the labor market”, allowing wider access to opportunities for learning and qualification in the online environment.

TARGET GROUPS
1. Teachers, instructors, and mentors in partner organizations and associate
partners who teach and work with groups of learners and students.
2. Project partner organizations working in the field of VET, in order to diversify the portfolio of their proposed programs and models.

OBJECTIVES
Development of a practical tool – Social model for learning (SML) providing effective digital, open and innovative education. SML is an innovative approach involving digital technologies for teaching and learning, as set out in the Digital Education Action Plan.
Build an effective partnership to implement strategies to improve VET and promote work-based learning for young people and adults.
Improving the quality of VET provision through a model allowing the integration of online content and courses, incl. qualification of the staff in the partner organizations.
Improving access to education and training for all, incl. low skilled workers, migrants, and refugees through the use of SML for continuing VET training.

The project will be implemented by a consortium of 6 partners from 6 different countries.

Project Results

PR1:

The PR1 will be a universally developed model for group learning in an online and live environment, through social and digital learning. The model can be used for learning in all areas of vocational education and for the acquisition of all qualifications, retraining, and further learning and skills acquisition by students and learners in partner countries and across Europe.

PR2:

The MOOC4ALL Guide for facilitators will be a handbook developed and used in the joint staff training event to transfer knowledge, methods, and approaches to social learning online. The guide describes the actions conducted by the facilitators while working online with a group of VET learners, providing them with valuable advice and helping structure their work with the group.

PR3:

The MOOC4ALL mobile application will provide access to SMOL at any time, connection with other participants in the platform and retraining, quick access to links to courses and materials, reminders and notes, and the portfolio of each user. Moreover, it will provide a connection to employers and job placement opportunities. The app functions will follow the Social Model for Online Learning (SMOL) and its features.
